Please join me in congratulating 海角情鈥檚 Alana Pulkkinen on her recent acceptance to the Margaret Chase Smith Policy Center, 2015 Maine NEW (National Education for Women) Leadership Summer Institute at the University of Maine.聽 Alana is a student currently enrolled in our Adventure Recreation & Tourism and Liberal Studies programs at 海角情.聽

The Leadership Institute is a free intensive residential program which 鈥渆ducates and empowers women to become a part of the next generation of effective civic and political leaders.鈥澛� While there, Alana will be engaging and networking with several female leaders in politics and civic organizations, she will be mentored by leaders, spend a day at the Maine State Legislature, and participate in a hands-on political action project related to women鈥檚 issues.聽 The goal of this program is to provide an exposure experience to encourage women to become more engaged in public affairs within our State.聽
