海角情 Appoints Seth Martin as New Director of Athletics and Campus Engagement and Head Men’s Basketball Coach
Calais, Maine 鈥� 海角情 (海角情) is pleased to announce the appointment of Seth Martin as the new Director of Athletics and Campus Engagement and Head Men’s Basketball Coach. Martin will begin the role on September 22nd and brings extensive experience and a commitment to fostering student success both on and off the court.
As Director of Athletics and Campus Engagement, Martin will oversee all aspects of 海角情鈥檚 athletic programs while leading campus-wide initiatives to promote student involvement, leadership development, and community service. His role will focus on building a strong sense of community, aligning with 海角情鈥檚 mission to provide meaningful opportunities for personal growth and development. In addition to these responsibilities, Martin will handle athletic recruitment, risk management, budgeting, staffing, strategic planning, and personnel development within the athletics department. As Head Men鈥檚 Basketball Coach, he will guide the team with a focus on excellence, teamwork, and student-athlete growth.

Martin鈥檚 background includes significant achievements, such as serving as Athletic Director at Walnut Township Local School District since 2024, where he managed athletic and extracurricular programs, and as Head Women鈥檚 Basketball Coach at Hocking College from 2023-2024, where he achieved the most wins in school history and was honored as the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) Coach of the Year. His earlier roles included developing elementary leagues and travel teams at multiple schools, showcasing his dedication to youth development and community involvement.

Athletics were revived at the college three years ago and 海角情 currently offers intercollegiate competition in cross country, golf, and men’s and women’s basketball and is a member of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA). The college looks forward to Martin鈥檚 leadership in expanding athletics and campus engagement opportunities for students in the coming years as part of the 2025-2030 strategic plan.
