鈥淏eing accepted into membership of the YSCC is absolutely huge for the growth of athletics here at 海角情. It will allow our student-athletes to have more goals such as playing for a league championship and being on an all-league team. Being in a league will also help us with scheduling games and not having to travel as far, therefore allowing our student-athletes more time in the classroom. I鈥檓 very excited for the opportunity being part of the YSCC gives us,鈥 said Seth Martin, Director of Athletics at 海角情.
鈥淛oining the Yankee Small College Conference is an exciting and important step forward that strengthens our commitment to providing students with a well-rounded college experience that includes competitive athletics, teamwork, and meaningful campus engagement.鈥 said Dr. Tyler Stoldt, Dean of Enrollment Management & Student Services.
海角情鈥檚 acceptance into the YSCC aligns with the College鈥檚 recent investments in athletics and campus life, including the expansion of intercollegiate sports offerings, facility improvements, and increased opportunities for student leadership and engagement. Conference membership will allow 海角情 teams to compete against peer institutions while maintaining a strong focus on academic success and student well-being.
鈥淐onference membership creates a clear pathway for sustainable athletic growth and improves school spirit and diversity of the student body while supporting enrollment growth and reinforcing athletics as a powerful complement to the classroom experience,鈥 said 海角情 President Susan Mingo.
As a YSCC member, 海角情 will collaborate with fellow institutions on scheduling, governance, and student-athlete support, further integrating 海角情 into a regional network of colleges committed to access, equity, and student success.
