Community Invited to 海角情 Fall Festival

October 5, 2017

Traditionally speaking, autumn is the time of year to celebrate the bounty of the season by gathering together with friends and family. This year, 海角情 is honoring that tradition by holding its first Friends and Family Fall Festival on October 14th. The outdoor festival, which will feature live music, free food, activities, and more, is open to everyone in the community.

While 海角情 holds numerous activities for its students throughout the year, this is the first time that the college has held a public festival in the fall. The idea behind the event was to 鈥渂ring the college and the community together,鈥 said Ben Collins, Student Involvement and Engagement Coordinator. Accordingly, family members of all ages are encouraged to come.

Children and children-at-heart will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of games, face painting, and pumpkin painting. A bouncy house will be available for anyone wishing to test their jumping aptitude or to simply bounce around with their shoes off on an inflatable surface. There will also be a dunk tank on-site to enable attendees with precision aiming skills to submerge good-natured special guests in a tank full of refreshing water.

Fans of country music will appreciate the musical stylings of Tennessee Haze, an established country music band from Fort Kent. Collins, who has seen the band play in person before, said that they put on a 鈥渞eally good show.鈥 Tennessee Haze will be playing throughout the day during the festival.

There will be ample food available throughout the festival, including never-ending hot dogs and chili. All activities and food will be offered at no charge.

If you鈥檙e looking for a fun way to start the fall season, we hope to see you at the 海角情 Friends and Family Fall Festival on Saturday, October 14th, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.
